Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at a time to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item increases with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or increasing an item's rarity or mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to boost their value.

Upgradable items can be found all over the game, both in the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The main way to upgrade gear is through the use of upgrade components which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and many require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others give a general bonus.

There are many types of upgrade item components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments can be placed on any type of equipment, and offer less than upgrades for specific equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. To upgrade an item, click it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats following the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will say Blocked.

The amount of upgrade item components needed for a given item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but can be reduced using many different ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.

Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with an upgrade to a prefix for example, item Upgrades an insignia or a rune, and many are upgraded by a suffix upgrade. These upgrades change the name of the item and Item upgrades add an adjective, like "Radiant" or "Minor vigor.' The exceptions are the non-inscribable wands, the shields and foci from Prophecies and Factions campaigns, that cannot be upgraded using any mods at all.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They are animated to grab the viewer's eye and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs resembles the body language, making them more effective in transmitting the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also increase the likelihood of remembering a message by evoking an emotional connection in the brain.

Each glyph comes with a range of values it can improve a stat by in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This range is the maximum value that the glyph can improve a stat by but not the amount it actually improves it by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier and quality of the product you are admiring.

Most upgrade components inserted into items can't be replaced or salvaged without dismantling the gear in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you do have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece equipment by utilizing the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove any glyph with the help of the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will destroy the item within which it is placed however, you can salvage the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, so this should not be considered a loss.

When you take away an item after adding a glyph, the shards of the glyph will disappear. You can also apply the glyph to your equipment to give it an extra benefit. Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are also a great method to reroll the stats of a weapon, which can be upgraded for better damage or perks.

Leveling
