World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. They also boost extra bonuses like damage from PvE and crit chance.

For instance an item with the upgrade template ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to give them a stat boost or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades have unique cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot for them. The item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be used. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once and cannot be applied multiple times or replaced by new upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can be prefixed or a suffix that alters the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor upgrade Item Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level using normal methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. These upgrades can be purchased by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.

The player is able to have the maximum of five boost upgrades at a time. Each upgrade increases the chance that a better-quality version of the item will drop in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear, even if they're unsure of how much they'll improve following a subsequent reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a significant possibility that the item will become obsolete or even break when it fails. A failed upgrade will cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade items components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs buff the power of all nodes within their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We suggest upgrading them as soon as you can to level 15.

In the endgame, you will often find that the most effective way to upgrade your gear is by placing Glyphs. These are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade Item (120.zsluoping.Cn) component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can choose to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of the Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs you will require them to be put on your equipment. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats, based on the Glyph.

Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to place Glyphs in strategic places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.

Leveling

The item upgrade system allows players to boost the stats of specific items by inserting upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Every upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items are able to be leveled until they reach a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level requires a different amount of components, and the upgrade costs increase as the item gets upgraded.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table, or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When a player upgrade the equipment they have, the base item will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same armor piece will get the form of a shield or weapon when upgraded. The new item comes with its own set bonus. This could be a drawback in that it could cause the item to become more expensive if you don't require it.

If the player has enough tokens they can reroll item upgrades. The item upgrader will be replaced with an entirely new item that is based on a level 1 base and totally different bonuses. This is a good idea however it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or does not swim as a dolphin). This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by 10 points. This item is extremely important in PvP. A well-rolled version can be worth up to 50x the value of a non-upgraded counterpart.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also improve the strength of their base defense and upgrades to weapon items increase the damage they deal as well as their strength and dexterity.

All items are upgradeable up to five times except for hero equipment, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can result in the item returning to its original state which means that the player has to pay for more materials than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance, attack damage, as well as all additional effects associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or speed of reload). However, the player may continue to use the weapon or armor following the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit the increase is applied before any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed each time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to the value of the base item. For example, a common item might have five upgrades at a cost. 25600 Technology Points, 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For example they might require fewer sowels, but more minerals and upgrade Item orons. Whatever the case, players must visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires an individual amount of ingredients needed to upgrade.
