Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade their equipment that they already have. This can be accomplished by any upgrader of items NPC.

Players can unlock more powerful utility items in addition to those they have in their usual inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Certain of these items can be upgraded for more efficient use.

The majority of utilitarian items give the player a navigational advantage or increase the ability to fight.
