WoW Upgrades - The item upgrades Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrader mod that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader is located in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item Level Upgrade, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons tools, armor, and accessories. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades to item owners in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display the item's next upgrade level when there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current item level. For example weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and the chance to obtain a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.

Crests

First, you should know that Crests are only available to equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade items paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and item level upgrade dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it brings some modifications to the upgrade process. When a piece attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This is to allow players to get their equipment up to the highest possible ilvl on all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one use therefore it's essential to make use of them in a responsible manner. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots.
